Is it Possible to Improve Self Confidence?

 
Yes, it is possible to improve self confidence. Through developing an understanding of the workings of our minds, and why we think and act the way we do, it is very possible to improve self confidence. Once we understand who and what the controllers are in our lives we can strip the nonsense away and reveal our true selves.

The heart of our true selves is that we are a vital part of the web and cycle of life. We must come to know that we are as important and necessary as any other person or thing on earth. Our true nature is that we are designed to be an experiencer of nature, God, Universal spirit – we are here to experience the big picture with the same awe that a baby experiences her big toe. With that awe we must consider that our purpose is to participate in the creative process itself.

To improve self confidence, is to look at the way the world works and how humans are conditioned to live within it. Healthy babies are not born with confidence problems – they are conditioned into their state of mind by their families, culture, religions, the media, school mates, experiences, and so on. Depending on a person's personality that they are born with will dictate how a person reacts to his conditioning and participates in the world.

If a person is participating in the world in a negative way because of his conditioning (such as being mentally abused by someone in his life) it is possible to still have a productive life free from negative emotions of the past. There are many examples of people ill-treated who go forth to lead a happy, healthy and productive life. There are many techniques that will help people to separate their true essence from the negative effects of past memories. Those techniques range from conventional psychological approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy to new age alternative methods such as emotional freedom therapy. The idea is to do what works for you and leaves you feeling your best even if some methods are untestable by science.

When we get lost in the chatter in our heads, which is based on the programming we received from others and how we react to past events, we lose our personal power. It doesn't mean ignoring any of the programmers or events – it does mean not letting them dictate our lives.
